TxDOT Know Before You Go for Sept. 2, 2024

There will be no new lane closures Monday, Sept. 2 or Tuesday, Sept. 3 due to the Labor Day holiday weekend, and TxDOT offices will be closed Monday.

Officials from the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) released information on various lane closures and updates due to ongoing projects:

Wednesday, Sept. 4

Expect various lane closures on eastbound I-40 at BNSF Railyard for continued bridge work. The northbound I-27 to eastbound I-40 entrance ramp and southbound US 287 to eastbound I-40 entrance ramp will be closed during this time. This project portion is expected to be completed by Saturday, Sept. 7.

Expect various lane closures on westbound I-40 over Tyler and Harrison streets for continued bridge work. The southbound US 287 to westbound I-40 entrance ramp will be closed intermittently during this time.

Depending on how work progresses, bridge work could move to eastbound I-40 at Tyler and Harrison streets by the end of next week.

Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work and other unexpected events. Allow yourself enough time to safely reach your destination if these closures affect your commute. For the most up-to-date road conditions, visit www.drivetexas.org.
