Vivent Health is among the nation’s leading HIV care providers, helping nearly 4,000 Milwaukeeans living with HIV and thousands more who are affected by the disease. Dining Out for Life supports the Vivent food pantry, a service that reflects their holistic approach to HIV treatment. In addition to providing pharmaceutical treatment, they also take care of basic health needs, including food, housing and case management.

The success of their approach is reflected in the numbers. Wisconsin patients have viral suppression rates of 95 percent, compared to the national average of just 62 percent.

“As a community-based organization, Vivent Health must continue to provide the services and programs that meet our community’s most critical health needs and remain nimble so we can adapt as those needs change,” said Margaret Lidstone, Head of Philanthropy and Community at Vivent Health. Engagement Officer.

“Dining for life is essential to ensure this happens. All funds raised during this one-day event support the health and well-being of the Milwaukee community in need of care.”

Dining Out for Life in Milwaukee is just one of many initiatives happening across the country. Each year, more than 50 HIV service organizations partner with more than 2,400 participating restaurants, more than 4,100 volunteers and more than 300,000 diners to raise more than $4.5 million for people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States and Canada. All funds raised through a Dining Out For Life event stay in that city to provide help and hope to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
