A renowned Kentucky distillery is gearing up for an expansion.

Maker’s Mark Distillery in Marion County will undergo an $18.5 million “tourism development project,” according to the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority’s August meeting agenda.

The project will expand the Star Hill Farm experience through “cocktail and culinary education, fine dining, tasting room and a bourbon library.”

The project is expected to start construction soon and be completed in early 2026.

The state gave the Maker’s Mark project about $3.4 million in incentives over 10 years. As part of these incentives, Maker’s Mark must keep the project, once completed, open to the public at least 100 days per year and is expected to attract 25 percent of all visitors from outside Kentucky.
