Tigers swept by WWG in season opener | News, Sports, Jobs


SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Tigers fell to Westbrook-Walnut Grove in their volleyball season opener on Tuesday, falling 25-17, 25-17, 25-22 in non-conference play.

Kendall Krueger led the Tigers in defeat with nine kills, 12 digs and a block, while Jasmine Novotny had eight kills, eight digs and two aces, Teagan Steffl had six kills and a block and Lily Pingeon had five killings. Taylor Roiger had 30 assists for the Tigers as well, while Emma Hauger had 15 digs and Jada Reese had 11 digs.

Springfield (0-1) hosts Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda at 7 p.m., Tuesday, in another non-conference game.
