Ben Affleck, 52, responds to rumors that he has already started dating Kick Kennedy, 36, after his divorce from Jennifer Lopez

The dust hasn’t even settled on the fact that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will get divorced, but there are already speculations that a new romance is blossoming.

It probably wasn’t as surprising to many when it was announced that Jennifer Lopez had filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck earlier this month.

Not because people expected the marriage to fail, but rather because speculation had been rife for months of tension between the two celebrities.

The pair had rarely been spotted together and anonymous insiders had confirmed that things were not all roses in the ‘Bennifer’ household.

Lopez and Affleck eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022 after giving their romance a second chance since they got engaged and called it off in 2004.

While Lopez only recently officially filed for divorce, documents showed the pair had been separated since April 2024.

Lopez also cited “irreconcilable differences” in her filing as the reason for the divorce.

The documents filed also do not indicate whether or not there is a prenuptial agreement between the couple.

While neither celebrity has directly addressed their divorce, a rep for Affleck has had to address rumors that he is romantically involved with Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, 36, the politician’s 36-year-old daughter Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Affleck’s rep, Jen Allen, addressed the rumors that began circulating over the weekend, simply saying “the rumors are not true.”

The rumors appeared to come from sources who spoke to People and stated that the pair have been “spending time together” since early spring.

This likely won’t be the only rumor to emerge as Affleck and Lopez’s lives are scrutinized over the next month.

According to sources close to Lopez, she is now ready to move on from it all, but is “disappointed” that her fourth marriage has ended.

She was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony.

Meanwhile, a divorce lawyer said it was “almost unheard of” for a celebrity to file for divorce the way Lopez did.

Evan Schein of the family law firm Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein in New York told UNILAD: “It is absolutely unusual for a celebrity to file for divorce without a lawyer.

“This is almost unheard of, especially when finances are not an issue. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.”
