Central Heights’ Ellis hits the run; The Rainiers lose

TACOMA, Wash. (KTRE) – Former Central Heights Blue Devil Duke Ellis homered in Tacoma’s 8-5 loss to the Sacramento River Cats on Wednesday.

Ellis started in center field and batted ninth.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Ellis came to bat with two runners on and nobody out. Ellis singled on a ground ball to left to bring in Rhylan Thomas. Ellis advanced to second base on a Ryan Bliss drive. Ellis was able to advance to third base, but was ultimately stranded there to end the inning.

Tacoma drops to 71-51 on the year and sits in first place in the PCL West.
