Prosecutors say the case against them will be presented to a grand jury.

Deputies said the devastating attack happened around 5:06 p.m. Saturday, August 17, at 23 Chapel Street in Savannah, Ohio.

Deputies previously said when they arrived at the scene, the child was restrained in hand and leg cuffs.

They learned he was handcuffed when the pit bull attacked him, according to deputies, causing injuries that sent him to the hospital in serious condition.

Deputies confirmed the dog and its owner, Michalski, were found hiding in a ditch.

The dog was taken into custody as a vicious dog.

The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing.
