The Jasper County delinquent tax sale has been moved to Carthage City Hall

CARTHAGE, Mo. — For those of you looking to pick up some Jasper County real estate at a competitive price, look no further than Carthage.

Jasper County’s annual delinquent tax sale is Monday. It normally takes place inside the courthouse, but because the elevator is still out of order, it will be held across the street inside City Hall.

Bidder registration opens Friday morning at 8:30 and will close at 4:30. Monday’s sale starts at 10am

“Bidders are required and we have done this for the past three years, this will be the fourth year to … register a week before the tax sale. There are certain things they have to show us, proper identification, they sign an affidavit, all of that takes some time,” said Jasper County Revenue Collector Steven McIntosh.

McIntosh estimates there could be fewer than a hundred properties for sale, compared to several hundred in years past.
