Orange County deputies rescue a woman after her car plunged into the lake

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies saved a woman’s life after her car crashed into a lake the morning of Aug. 8 in what was a dangerously close call.

The incident happened when the woman’s vehicle left the road and ended up completely submerged in water. Arriving at the scene, the police found a man who was trying to help the driver. Without hesitation, they jumped into the lake and repeatedly went underwater to break the car windows and rescue the trapped woman.

Thanks to their quick actions, the woman was brought to safety without significant injuries.

“Thanks to their efforts, she was brought to safety with no significant injuries,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “This is the courage and dedication our deputies show every day to keep our community safe.”

Miraculously, no serious injuries were reported. Authorities are still investigating why the car left the road.
