Dodgers Chris Taylor & Blake Treinen start minors rehab assignments

Chris Taylor and Blake Treinen joined the Dodgers minor league rehab party this weekend, with Taylor joining Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday and Treinen set to join Double-A Tulsa on Saturday.

Taylor played five innings at second base on Friday in Las Vegas, and had an RBI double in his four at-bats.

The utility man has been out since July 25 with a left groin strain, and was at Camelback Ranch earlier this week taking simulated at-bats while the team was in Milwaukee. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters in St. Louis on Friday that Taylor would need at least a week of rehab games.

Treinen has been out since August 5 with left hip discomfort, and the earliest he can return is Tuesday.

Max Muncy played seven innings at third base for Oklahoma City in the fifth game of his rehab assignment after a scheduled off day Thursday. He went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts

Tommy Edman got a scheduled off day after his five rehab games to date with Oklahoma City. Roberts said on Friday, both on MLB Network Radio and to reporters at Busch Stadium, that Edman will be activated off the injured list Monday at Dodger Stadium, and Muncy on Tuesday.
