Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo reacts to the Christmas game

In recent seasons, the Milwaukee Bucks have been one of the best teams in the NBA. This culminated in them winning the 2021 NBA title over the Phoenix Suns.

With All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the way, Milwaukee has become one of the most entertaining teams in the league. Fans usually tune in whenever they can to watch the Bucks play, just to see the greatness that is Antetokounmpo.

Last season, Milwaukee added All-Star guard Damian Lillard to the mix to pair alongside Antetokounmpo. The two stars helped the Bucks into the postseason, but injuries to both players caused problems as Milwaukee was eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers.

Now entering the new season, Milwaukee has the feel of a team ready to pounce on the Eastern Conference. However, despite this fact, NBA schedule producers did not grant the Bucks a spot on the annual Christmas schedule.

This is the first time since the 2017-18 season that Milwaukee will not be featured on one of the biggest days of the regular season. Following the news of the Christmas roster schedule, Antetokounmpo reacted to the team not getting a game.

The Christmas schedule was released earlier this week, and while Milwaukee isn’t there, the NBA isn’t lacking in star power. Here is the full schedule of matches:

– San Antonio Spurs at New York Knicks
– Minnesota Timberwolves at Dallas Mavericks
– Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics
– Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors
– Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns

The Bucks can use this snub as motivation for next season. Had they been healthy in the playoffs, it could have been said that Milwaukee could have really pushed the Celtics in the East.

Milwaukee will enter the year working under head coach Doc Rivers, who joined the team midway through last season. Continuity with Rivers should help the Bucks get even better, and the players are familiar with his system.

But the biggest upside for the Bucks this season is that Lillard and Antetokounmpo now have a year of playing next to each other. They have had time to figure out different things on the field, giving them a better chance to dominate this season.
