Looks like a heartbreaking ballad queen has every reason to celebrate. Grammy-winning singer Adele confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul during a concert in Munich, Germany on Thursday (August 8).

The “Easy On Me” hitmaker revealed the news after a fan in the audience humorously asked for her hand in marriage.

“I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married, so I can’t,” Adele, 36, told the audience member, raising her left hand. Although she didn’t wear a ring during the show, Adele was recently spotted with a pear-shaped diamond on her ring finger while in her home country. The news of Adele’s engagement was met with cheers and applause from the public. And of course, fans around the world are sending their love to the soon-to-be-weds.

An Adele fan account on X (formerly Twitter) said they were “ecstatic for her” and Paul.

Since much of Adele’s catalog contains sad songs about pain, love and loss, we’d imagine she’s become guarded over the years. But most fans are happy that she finally found someone right for her.

Neither Adele nor Paul, 42, have given a timeline for when a wedding will take place, but their eventual marriage will mark Adele’s second, her first being to Simon Konecki in 2018 until 2021. Her latest album, 30out in 2021, it was inspired by her divorce from Konecki and features the song “All Night Parking”, which she wrote in the early stages of falling in love with Paul.

One suggested the engagement news could signal a change in musical direction for Adele’s next album.

“So if Adele gets engaged and married and she wrote ‘All Night Parking’ about it, then the next album is going to be full of ‘All Night Parking’ oh I won so bad,” the fan said.

And of course, since her friend Beyoncé is known to send flowers to fellow female music stars during big life events, some have joked that her flower shop will have its hands full.
