Three Dead, One Injured After Vehicle Plunges Off 5 Freeway North Of Castaic

Three people were killed and one other was injured after a vehicle plunged off the 5 Freeway north of Castaic Monday afternoon.

Around 4:30 pm Monday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision with persons trapped on the southbound 5 Freeway near Templin Highway north of Castaic, said Dispatch Supervisor Peters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

A vehicle with four occupants plunged approximately 20 feet off the 5 Freeway, according to initial reports.

All four patients were trapped in the vehicle, according to Fire officials.

Three people were pronounced dead on arrival, and one person was transported to the hospital in critical condition, according to Peters
