As the mainstream media feverishly conspires with Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign to erase the far-left record of the radical progressive candidate, it’s important to highlight exactly where the former California attorney general really stands on safety issues public and police. The reductive slogan of the Harris campaign’s bumper sticker defines race as a “prosecutor versus criminal” showdown — despite the fact that much of America feels the impeachment of former President Donald Trump is politically motivated. Concurrent with this destruction of norms is the ongoing redefinition of Harris as a proponent of “law and order.”

And yet, even a review of her record easily dismisses the restoration attempt. We certainly remember her meeting on the debate stage with former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard during the 2020 Democratic primaries. Gabbard’s complete gutting of Harris’ record as attorney general effectively kicked Harris out of the race without getting a single vote , ahead of the Iowa caucuses.

But with President Joe Biden forced down to the top of the ticket — the victim of internal indoctrination by his own party — Harris has now been crowned the Democrats’ next-generation heroine.

But let’s not forget her own statements and actions that seem contrary to her latest rebranding. Vice President Harris has a complicated history with law enforcement. Here are about six extremely disturbing cases that lend credence to her connection to the ongoing “war on the cops”:

Kamala Harris

  • Harris’s insistence on promoting the lie (in 2019) that an African-American teenager was killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo., in 2014. Her continued perpetuation of an ugly trope came years after the Justice Department’s Obama ended an investigation led by then-Attorney General Eric Holder and issued an 87-page report that determined the shooting was justified. The fact that Harris’s inflammatory and divisive mischaracterization on Twitter has yet to be removed should completely disqualify her from leading our nation.
  • It would be one thing to have simply been duped by infamous “hate crime peddler” Jussie Smollett, but Harris quickly doubled down on his support in 2019, describing the farcical allegation that White, Trump-supporting MAGA enthusiasts, they targeted Smollett because of his race, describing the fraud as a “modern-day lynching”. Prosecutors apply a healthy dose of skepticism in investigations. They are tasked with following the evidence without fear or favor. How was Harris once the best cop in California?
  • As a sitting U.S. senator and presumptive Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2018, Harris, during a hearing on Capitol Hill, questioned a Trump administration appointee for the top job at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Ronald Vitiello , whether he was “aware of the perception” that there are similarities between ICE and the hateful domestic terrorist group, the KKK.

Then, while vice president in 2021, Harris infamously smeared mounted Customs and Border Patrol agents who encountered Haitian migrants trying to cross the border illegally by alluding to the baseless and patently offensive partisan charge that the agents were “whipping” them on migrants. She also joined “The View” to tell her sympathetic audience that the scene “evoked” images of slavery.

  • While left-wing politicians have slowly moved away from their previously unqualified support for Black Lives Matter and embraced the “police defunding” movement, the internet is forever. During a 2020 radio interview in New York, Harris accused American cities of “militarizing the police” and worried about the amount of money spent on police departments following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis that summer. During the 2020 campaign, the Biden campaign worked feverishly to clean up its position, sensing an opportunity that the Trump campaign would surely exploit. However, at the height of the protests and riots of 2020, polls showed just how out of touch we truly were with the African-American community, as 81% indicated they wanted the same or more police in their neighborhoods.
  • How is the Harris campaign trying to portray her as a law-and-order prosecutor when she promoted a Minnesota bail fund that once helped free violent criminals during the George Floyd protests and the destructive riots of 2020? Incredibly, this Harris-backed fund appears to remain in “receiving” mode for donations. Her support encouraged contributions that eventually led to the release of violent felon Shawn Michael Tillman. Then he committed a murder. Our next president has not yet dissociated himself from this evil effort. The protesters were never arrested for protesting peacefully and legally. Harris knew that. Her 2020 campaign also proposed ending cash bail and “transforming the criminal justice system.”
  • Finally, she remains a supporter of “sanctuary city” policies — an unspoken act of defiance in which municipalities refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Given the chaos along the southern border, an issue both sides are eager to exploit during the campaign, Harris’s failed efforts as “border czar” are punctuated by less-than-subtle encouragement for migrants to cross illegal – knowing they have a “friend” in the White House. Recent heinous crimes by illegals have suddenly thrown her support for open borders into the spotlight. The movement of “border jumpers” (who continue to commit violent crimes) is the very definition of an unforced error. However, the lure of expanding her party’s political base is too tempting to avoid. This pander continues to have deadly consequences.

In closing, Kamala Harris’ quest for patronage has helped fuel the current national divide. Despite serving seven years as San Francisco’s district attorney and six years as California’s attorney general, we can’t reconcile her record. Her reckless words promote a false narrative that the police ranks are filled with “white supremacists” who seek to hunt down and kill young black men for sport.

Remember the motivations of the killers behind the recent targeting of police officers in New York City and Dallas to understand how words matter. Despite any statistical deletion of crime data, our cities are now more dangerous. In 2024, a police officer is shot every 22 hours. All while the demonization of the police and support for failed policies like bail reform, sanctuary cities, and the defunding movement continue to destroy public order. Can we really trust Kamala Harris to keep us safe?
