A Century woman is facing drug charges for allegedly bringing meth into the Escambia County Jail after she was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant.

Sandra Lee Walston, 50, was charged with contraband into a county jail and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Walston was recently arrested on Wood Street in Century on a failure to appear warrant and transported to jail. A corrections officer found a small bag containing 0.48 grams of methamphetamine on her person when she was searched, according to an arrest report.

Walston was asked before being transported from Wood Street and before going to jail if she “had anything on her that would cause her any trouble and she stated that she did not,” the report states.

She remained in the Escambia County Jail Monday morning without bond on the failure to appear warrant.
