Former OPD Chief Anne Kirkpatrick Hits New Orleans Pedestrians: Police

Former Oakland Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick struck two pedestrians while driving in New Orleans on Sunday, police said.

Kirkpatrick is now the police chief of New Orleans and was on duty behind the wheel of a police vehicle when he hit a man and a woman.

The woman was treated for minor injuries, the man was not injured.

The New Orleans Police Department says a breathalyzer test showed no evidence of alcohol.

The results of a urinalysis are expected in a few days.

Kirkpatrick was fired as Oakland police chief four years ago after clashing with the police commission.

A jury awarded him $1.5 million for wrongful termination.

This story was reported from Oakland, California.
