Heather Sackett is an environmental journalist based on the Western Slope. She has covered the Colorado River and its tributaries since 2019 as editor-in-chief and Water Desk reporter at the nonprofit online Aspen Journalism. She has a background in local news and has also reported for the Littleton Independent, The Denver Post, KOTO News and the Telluride Daily Planet. Heather holds a master’s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder’s Center for Environmental Journalism, and her reporting has been recognized by the Colorado Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.
