Triple digit temperatures return today

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Here we go again. The last few days have been hot, mostly in the 90s, but triple digit temperatures are back today. However, with relatively low humidity, it is felt that temperatures will remain below 105 degrees and therefore no alerts or warnings are in effect.

A weak cold front will cover Kansas tonight into Tuesday. The impact will be minimal as no rain or storms are expected as it passes, and temperatures will only drop a degree or two, with highs expected in the upper 90s tomorrow and Wednesday.

A second, stronger cold front will arrive Thursday through Friday. While widespread showers and thunderstorms are unlikely, some places will get some much-needed precipitation, and everyone will see much cooler temperatures in the 80s on Friday.

Looking ahead…after cooler than normal temperatures expected this weekend, another dry spell of warmer temperatures is expected next week as highs climb back into the 90s to near 100 degrees.
