MOORHEAD — Gavin Wolf’s room is like a walk through a Lego factory.

“The Death Star? This was, like, the first big set I ever got. It’s kind of like a dollhouse in terms of Lego Star Wars,” Gavin said. “I want to collect them all.”

From Star Wars to Marvel, he has been putting together Legos since he was 8 years old. He can spend hours on a piece.

“It tells you right there, it was launched in 2021 with 6,785 pieces. I would say (it took) about 17 hours. That Millennium Falcon took 18 hours total,” Gavin said.

Gavin, who is autistic, just graduated from Moorhead High School. Trying to find a job wasn’t always easy. Then a place called Prairie Bricks met Gavin.

“Zach and I would be more than happy to tell you the story of how Darth Maul came to be, back home,” Gavin said of his Prairie Bricks boss.

“It’s definitely wise to get them before they retire, because they can grow exponentially,” Gavin said.

Gavin is now one of the most popular and respected employees at Prairie Bricks, part of the Easten complex in Moorhead.

“This is the pro wall, you can pick any piece you want to do what you want to do,” Gavin said.

Don’t worry, if you have a Lego question, he’ll know the answer. For his family, it’s a sense of pride that the high school graduate has found something so rewarding, along with a sense of independence for himself.

“This is his world. It is amazing. He will see a minifigure and know what year he is from and, because of a certain feature of the minifigure, what set he is from and he is a pensioner. set, (and) how valuable it is, it’s crazy that just looking at it, it’s just a mini figure,” said Aaron Wolf, Gavin’s father.

“He really found his niche. I mean, it’s a blessing that this opportunity came our way, and so we couldn’t be more thankful for that,” said Janine Wolf, Gavin’s mother.

For Gavin, it doesn’t even feel like work, and he’s always thinking about the next Lego project he can tackle.

“This (Ghostbusters) would be a great addition to the collection as I already have the DeLorean,” Gavin said.
