Omaha Pools are open for summer 2024

Mason also likes the slides, “It’s just fun.” “There are slides and we slide anywhere we want,” Rylan said. “You can even get in that pool.” Omaha Parks and Recreation Manager Chris Haberling said with pools and summer camps starting Monday, it’s a busy one for his department. “I think a lot of people are going to go to the pools ready to unofficially start their summer, get some sun and cool off a little bit in the pools,” Haberling said. Before the pools opened, the lifeguards got to work cleaning things up. “Every pool must be inspected every summer before opening. We make sure we pass inspections to create a clean and safe environment for everyone,” Haberling said. Unlike previous years, staffing is not an issue. “This is the first summer since the pandemic that we’ve been able to fully staff to have every pool open every day,” Haberling said. Ready to beat the heat! Pools around the Omaha area have opened for the summer season For people like Frank and his daughter, they don’t have to worry about their favorite pool not being open. “This has mainly been my daughter’s favorite pool and she loves it because of the slide,” Frank said. Ai’laiyah clarified, “Two slides.” Kennedy, Jaylan and Rylan couldn’t wait to make a big splash. “I have goggles,” Jaylan said. “Sometimes I fall into the pool on my back.” “I can hold my breath for a long time like that,” Kennedy said. “I’m just going in,” Rylan said.
