CHICAGO (CBS) — Hundreds of bikers took to the streets of Chicago on Sunday to remember fallen police officers who died or were injured in the line of duty.

About 1,000 took to the streets for the 20th annual Ride to Remember, a fundraiser for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

The event helps the foundation raise funds for Gold Star families. It was started in 2004 by a group of Chicago police officers in response to a challenge from Chicago Police Department Superintendent Phil Cline to each unit to find a way to raise money for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation .
