City Council to review proposal to buy police pole cameras and discuss adding cannabis to Smoking Ordinance

Jamestown City Council will review a proposal to purchase the three-post cameras for Jamestown Police Department.

The rooms would cost $22,644 and be funded through a JAG grant of $20,694 and $1,970 from budgeted funds. These would be bought from i2c technologies of North Canton, Ohio.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to use $7,741.89 America’s bailout funds to purchase 30 new chairs for the mayor’s office, City Council Chambers and a new desk for the comptroller’s office.

The Council will hear a presentation by Lauren Sharp of Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Development during the entire work session.

There will also be a discussion about the addition CANNABIS to the city smoking ordinance. The agenda states that council members will receive information packages on this topic from the mayor during the meeting.

There will also be a public hearing at 6:00 PM regarding New York State Home and Community Renewalhis Community Development Grant-CV (CDBG-CV). The hearing will take place in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of the town hall.

The Housing Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., and other committees will meet at 7:00 p.m. The full working session will take place at 19:30 in the Police Training Room on the fourth floor. All meetings are open to the public, with the public hearing and work session streamed live on jamestownny.gov.
