Sturridge, Gallagher, Chilwell and Henderson react to England’s iconic goals

Daniel Sturridge has joined forces with Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson and Ben Chilwell to indulge in a fun dose of England football nostalgia.

The 34-year-old former Three Lions striker was joined by the star-studded trio at St George’s Park to reflect on some of the nation’s most memorable recent moments.

Presented by Sturridge in partnership with LG, the group turned back the clock to watch – and react to – some of the iconic goals that unfolded on the road to the summer of football.

Shown on a new LG OLED TV, the star-studded quartet enjoyed clips such as Harry Kane’s goal against Italy and Bukayo Saka’s stunning strike against North Macedonia, as well as some classic moments such as Ricky Lambert’s header against Scotland .

In an interactive twist, Sturridge encouraged all three to channel their inner ‘Martin Tyler or Peter Drury’ by commenting on the moments they watched on the bright, clear and distinctive LG OLED TV.

Sturridge, who won 26 caps for England between 2011 and 2017, told the trio: “As you guys know I’m in the media right now – but it’s your turn today!

“We want you to make some comments – give me your best Martin Tyler, your best Peter Drury in these clips of England matches past and present.

“The picture quality is next level, sensational.”

Chelsea midfielder Gallagher has won 12 caps since making his England debut in 2021 and is relishing the prospect of battling Europe’s best in Germany this summer.

Gareth Southgate’s side have come so close to shaking off almost 60 years of injuries in recent tournaments and Gallagher, 24, believes those experiences of pain can take them even further next month.

He said: “I’m on my toes for this summer – it’s an honor to play for England and to be at a major tournament is incredible. I hope I can play my part too.

“I just want to be part of the team, be there and feel part of it. We have a talented young team with so many talented players, so it’s a very exciting time for England. I’m looking forward to it.”

“When I was growing up we used to watch a lot of TV – it was a huge honor to represent England and I’m very grateful for my time playing in the Three Lions shirt.”
