Sentencing approaches for man convicted of 2022 Albuquerque murder

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – A man convicted of killing his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend in 2022 is expected to find out how long he will spend behind bars.

Derrik Bonner assisted his girlfriend, Maria Costa, and another person in planning and carrying out the killing of David Salazar in his Albuquerque apartment nearly two years ago.

A jury found Bonner guilty in November of multiple charges, including felony murder and aggravated burglary. He is scheduled for sentencing Monday afternoon at 2:30.
