Who should you be tipping for round 13 of the 2024 AFL season

Welcome back, everyone! Round 13 of the AFL is upon us. Our standing experts have put their heads together to help you. So open up the ESPNfootytips app, take notes and get ahead of the game!

Round 13 kicks off in Adelaide where the Crows take on the Tigers. Can the Crows redeem themselves from last weekend’s mess or can Richmond deliver this week’s upset?

On Friday night, the returning Bulldogs host the Lions at home. Fresh off the bye, can the Lions reignite their second half of the season?

For the last game of the round, it’s the biggest yet. Not only is it ‘The Big Freeze’ but it’s Collingwood v Melbourne at the MCG. Can the Pies overcome their injury toll or will the Dees bounce back from an embarrassing round 12 performance? Who will celebrate the King’s birthday in style?

This weekend is going to be big and we’ve got your back!

EXPERT TIPS:

Jake Michaels

Last week: 5
Season total: 69

Certainty and why: I can’t believe what I’m doing, but the Eagles…yes, the West Coast Eagles, are my certainties this week. At home against the hapless Kangaroos, they should prove far too strong.

Angry and why: Going by form, the Hawks should be favored to beat the Giants on Saturday afternoon. They’ve won five of their last seven (and it really should have been six of seven)! Meanwhile, after a fast start, the Giants have just one win since the start of May.

Tips for the week:

Adelaide against Richmond
Western Bulldogs against Brisbane
Hawthorn vs. GWS
the west coast vs. North Melbourne
St Kilda vs. Gold Coast
Sydney vs. Geelong
Essendon vs. Carlton
Collingwood vs. Melbourne

Certainty and why: The crows are home this week, right? Then they are…

Angry and why: Unfortunately, I will be consumed by the Hawks and their form. It could certainly cause a Tassie boil.

Western Bulldogs against Brisbane
Hawthorn vs. GWS
the west coast vs. North Melbourne
St Kilda vs. Gold Coast

Jarryd Barca

Certainty and why: This is the first week where there may not be a real ‘certainty’, but I’m pretty confident that the Blues and Swans are picking up wins despite what appear to be ‘difficult’ opponents on paper.

Angry and why: The Suns just don’t win away from home, so I’ll tip the Saints (especially if Max King is deemed fit to play).
