Updates, highlights, battle card, start time

Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier have everything to fight for at UFC 302. Makhachev is trying to build his case as the best in the sport, while Poirier is trying to check the last box of his career. It’s all happening Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

UFC lightweight champion Makhachev defends his third title against Poirier. A win over Makhachev would tie him for the most lightweight title defenses with BJ Penn, Frankie Edgar, Benson Henderson and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Poirier teased to retire win or lose at UFC 302, taking one last shot at becoming the undisputed champion after two failed attempts.

There’s only one title on the line at UFC 302, but two five-round fights. Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland and one-time title challenger Paulo Costa collide in a non-title fight with a time limit of 25 minutes.

CBS Sports will be with you throughout Saturday, bringing you all the results and highlights below from UFC 302. The main card begins at 10:00 PM ET on ESPN+ PPV following prelims at 8 ET.
