TIERNEY, Julia (Naughton) of Somerville, formerly of Spiddal, co. Galway, Ireland, 29 May 2024, age 82. Beloved wife of the late John T. Tierney. Devoted mother of Mary Ann Hopkins and her husband Christopher of Virginia, Sean Tierney and his wife Kara of Medford and Thomas Tierney and his wife Jessica of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Liam and Molly Hopkins, Conor and Chloe Tierney and Emma and Addison Tierney. Dear sister of Patrick Naughton of Quincy, Mary Burke of GA, Thomas Naughton and Liam Naughton both of Ireland and the late Sean Naughton. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder Square) Somerville on Monday, June 3rd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday morning in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, please meet us at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow at St. Patrick, Watertown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julia’s memory to her beloved St. Raphael Parish.
