Chicago Ridge Mall closes early following police activity – NBC Chicago

Chicago Ridge Mall closed abruptly Saturday night following law enforcement activity at the south suburban mall.

Videos posted on social media before 7 p.m. showed multiple police officers on the scene at the mall located at Ridgeland Avenue and 95th Street. Police were no longer at the mall around 8 p.m., according to an NBC Chicago reporter on the scene.

Security told NBC Chicago that the mall was closed for the rest of the day at the request of police.

Chicago Ridge Police said information about what happened will be forthcoming.
