The fire breaks out and reignites in the local camp

SANDY LAKE, Pa. (WKBN) — Local fire departments responded to a fire at Vacationland Campground in Sandy Lake Friday night.

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. and there were no reports of injuries, according to officials.


Around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, the fire reignited and fire and EMS crews were back on the scene.

The Sandy Lake Fire Department said that while assisting a neighboring department Friday night, people drove over a large diameter hose used to supply water to the engine, causing a section to break, according to their fire page. Facebook.

The post went on to say that fire hoses cost about $1200 per 800 feet. A fire truck averages about 1000 feet.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
